Job Description:

The Drumheller & District Chamber of Commerce is seeking personable and friendly Tourism Services Team Leader! This position is a full-time permanent supervisory position in the tourism and hospitality industry.  

This position will perform a variety of tasks associated with the operation of the Visitor Information Centre and World's Largest Dinosaur attraction and gift shop for the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce.  

The position will report to and be directed by the Tourism Services Manger and/or the Executive Director.  

In fulfilling the responsibilities of this position, the Tourism Services Team Leader will be required to work in harmony and close cooperation with all DDCC staff members.  


VIC Operations 

  • Performing day to day operational duties
  • Responding to visitor inquiries in person, as well as via email and telephone
  • Maintaining tourism literature (ordering brochures, tracking of brochure inventory, stocking brochure racks, ensuring storage room is stocked and organized)
  • Maintaining accommodation board 
  • Accurately tack daily visitor traffic, including place of origin, party size, destination, etc. 
  • Creating an inventory of local events for internal and external purposes
  • Assist with facilitating group books for accommodations and attractions, as required 

WLD & Gift shop Operations

  • Performing day to day operational duties 
  • Opening and closing of Gift shop and WLD
  • Customer service
  • Cash handling
  • Inventory counts
  • Set up and organize display units for product 
  • Verify incoming product, price or label and set out product
  • Restocking of product as required 

Facility Development & Operations 

  • Supervise and/or perform the maintenance of the WLD and VIC on daily basis 
  • Perform and/or monitor janitorial performance, with immediate correction and follow up as required 
  • Perform an ongoing facility audit keeping the WLD and VIC in good condition 

Human Resource Management Support 

  • Training and supervision of WLD ad VIC staff, including discipline of staff in consultation with the Tourism Services Manager and/or Executive Director.  
  • Creation of daily duty roster for WLD and VIC staff


  • Monitoring of social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Trip Advisor, Google)
  • Managing of social media accounts in consultation with Tourism Services Manager

Office Support 

  • Assist in additional DDCC activities, as required from time to time, as assigned by the Executive Director 




Preferred Skills:


  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong knowledge of tourism within Drumheller and area
  • Organized and be able to work well with others in a team environment
  • Exceptional ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Competent working in multiple software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter)
  • Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment 
  • Class 5 Drivers' License
