Job Description:

Healthy Families at Accredited Supports to the Community is seeking a highly professional and independent Home Visitor for Kneehill County.

As a Home Visitor, you will provide one-on-one parenting support and child development information to families with children under six. Partnering with families, you will help them manage the complex challenges of modern life and parenting. You will use your strong problem solving skills and knowledge about community resources. You will also use your excellent communication skills and non-judgemental attitude to guide families towards their goals to strengthen their family.

ASC is a non-profit society who helps over 1500 families every year in South Central Alberta. Operating for 40+ years, ASC provides Community Disability Services, Support to Adults, Children Services, ParentChild Assistance Program, Healthy Family services, as well as operates the Olds Bottle Depot.

 

Responsibilities:

 Perform case management activities according to Healthy Family policies and procedures, in a highly confidential and professional manner
 Manage case load of clients and their families
 Schedule and attend home visitations
 Build Relationships
 Assist clients in setting goals and identify steps to achieve their goals
 Identify community providers whose services are relevant to client needs
 Collect and enter data online
 Attend and participate in weekly individual supervision with site supervisor/coordinator to discuss client needs, goals and issues
 Positively represent ASC – Networking

Preferred Skills:

The Choice Candidate:

 Knowledge of, mental health and child development
 4 yrs. experience working with families and children or equivalent combination of education and work experience
 Degree or Diploma in Social Services or related field
 Ability to travel on scheduled work days (May include Hanna and surrounding area)
 Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with families
 Ability to conduct interviews covering extremely sensitive and confidential issues
 Problem solves in crisis situations
 Work efficiently in the field with little supervision
 Strong organizational and time management skills
 Strong communication skills
 Teamwork is essential
 Ability to prioritize
 Technology oriented –access to Wi-Fi
 Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
 Clean criminal record and child welfare check
