Duties:
- Responsible for conducting in-depth client intakes, employability assessments, and action plan development to support realistic employment goals
- Assist clients with developing and updating resumes, career exploration, career testing, and setting achievable career objectives
- Identify barriers to employment and provide individualized job search strategies
- Provide orientation to employment and support services available within the organization and community
- Deliver 10 week group facilitation related to life skills, employment readiness, job search techniques, and career planning
- Deliver workshop content using provided materials and program resources
- Assess and guide clients in developing effective job search and life management strategies
- Offer a supportive, motivational, and client-centered approach to career planning and employment counselling
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with employers, community agencies, and other community stakeholders
- Engage, counsel, motivate, coach, and collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences
- Promote respectful relationships and inclusive community participation for individuals with disabilities or employment barriers
- Maintain accurate client records, databases, case notes, and reporting requirements in accordance with organizational standards
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary Certificate or Diploma in Human Services or a related field
- Participate in all required training prior to facilitating workshops
- Excellent public relations and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated belief that persons with disabilities have the right and responsibility to define and pursue their life choices through active community participation
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative and team-oriented environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to support existing program delivery and administrative processes
- Knowledge of employment counselling, career development, and community support services considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable transportation to travel throughout the service area
- Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check required
