Career Advisor/Workshop Facilitator (Stettler Office)

Duties:

  • Responsible for conducting in-depth client  intakes, employability assessments, and action plan development to support  realistic employment goals
  • Assist clients with developing and updating resumes, career exploration, career testing, and setting achievable career objectives
  • Identify barriers to employment and provide individualized job search strategies
  • Provide orientation to employment and support services available within the organization and community
  • Deliver 10 week group facilitation related to life skills, employment readiness, job search techniques, and career planning
  • Deliver workshop content using provided materials and program resources
  • Assess and guide clients in developing effective job search and life management strategies
  • Offer a supportive, motivational, and client-centered approach to career planning and employment counselling
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with employers, community agencies, and other community stakeholders
  • Engage, counsel, motivate, coach, and collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Promote respectful relationships and inclusive community participation for individuals with disabilities or employment barriers
  • Maintain accurate client records, databases, case notes, and reporting requirements in accordance with organizational standards

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary Certificate or Diploma in Human Services or a related field
  • Participate in all required training prior to facilitating workshops
  • Excellent public relations and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated belief that persons with disabilities have the right and responsibility to define and pursue their life choices through active community participation
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative and team-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to support existing program delivery and administrative processes
  • Knowledge of employment counselling, career development, and community support services considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable transportation to travel throughout the service area
  • Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check required
