We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various CNC and manual machining equipment to produce high-precision components. Reporting to the Operations Manager for delegation of work and participate in the efficient and effective operations of the Production facility as well as job shop by providing machinist services.
Duties and responsibilities:
Interpret charts, drawings or sample parts to determine the machining operation to be performed.
Read, interpret and edit a variety of G-code programs.
Inspect pieces throughout run to ensure tolerances and quality.
Properly use measuring tools.
Perform minor problem solving and provide help to other operators.
Conduct daily preventative maintenance checks on machines/equipment, tools and parts.
Inspect cutting tools.
Maintain a clean work area and surrounding areas.
Follow all required Occupation Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Adhere to quality procedures and work instructions and actively participate in the quality improvement process.
Appropriately, and in a timely manner complete administrative tasks including timesheets, job sheets, etc.
Relate to and communicate with co-workers and management sincerely, clearly, tactfully, promptly and courteously; respond to inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Alberta-certified journeyperson in Machining, or a highly skilled apprentice.
Read and interpret blueprints/drawings
Minimum 3 years' experience on conventional or CNC machines
Cad and Cam software experience an asset
Familiarity with a variety of precision measuring tools.
Ability to use a variety of lifting equipment
Strong attention to detail and ability to conform to quality standards.
Ability to change machine setups as well as being able to change jobs multiple times throughout the day as well as production.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
