Marketing and Digital Technology Coordinator

We’re seeking a dedicated Marketing and Technology Coordinator to showcase the museum’s rich offerings and engage the community and transition information into a digital format. This role involves promoting local history, creating interactive visitor experiences, and boosting museum visibility through creative campaigns. Additional responsibilities include coordinating outreach, leveraging digital tools, and supporting team initiatives to attract visitors and enhance the museum's presence in Drumheller. Job details, including but not limited to:

  • Work with the board and team to create a strong social media presence
  • Organize Physical Materials: Sort and categorize documents and tapes to ensure an efficient transition process.
  • Assess Technology Needs: Identify the necessary equipment, such as scanners, VHS-to-digital converters, and software for digitization.
  • Digitize Materials: Convert physical documents using scanner and transfer VHS tapes into digital formats using appropriate conversation tools.
  • Quality Control: Review and edit digital files to ensure clarity, compeltness, and accuracy.
  • File Naming and Storage: Create a consistent naming system and organize files into digital folders for easy access and navigation.
  • Backup Files: Save digital copies on multiple platforms, such as cloud storage and external drives, to protect data.
  • Document Preservation: Ensure originals are safely stored or disposed of according to museum guidelines.
  • Record Metadata: Attach necessary information to files (e.g., dates, descriptions, authors) to aid in retrieval and understanding.
  • Training Staff: Teach other staff how to access and utilize digital files effectively.
  • Develop Guidelines: Establish procedures for handling new materials in digital formats going forward.

  • Leadership - refers to a number of skills, including communication, relationship building, the ability to delegate and traits such as honesty. At work, leadership skills are required when working in a team, demonstrating initiative, and taking responsibility for the completion of tasks that require multiple employees.
