Job Description
While conducting a Patient Watch you would beresponsible for monitoring the safety, security, and confidentiality ofpatients who present a danger to themselves, or others. This position requiresan individual who can provide superior customer service and professionalismwhile carrying out the functions of the job. This job requires applicants to beable to work both day and overnight shifts. This position may require longperiods of sitting.
We are looking for individuals in the Stettlerarea who are willing to work on-demand and pick up shifts on short notice.Shifts may come available in the Stettler and surrounding rural areas within a500 km radius. A valid class 5 drivers license and a willingness to travel toother hospital locations in your own vehicle is required. We will reimbursemileage at company rates (40¢/km).
Candidates must have open availabilityincluding a willingness to work weekends and overnight shifts.
Successful applicants will need to attend aSecurity Training course provided through Paladin Security. First Aidcertification is also required, those successful applicants who do notcurrently possess this certification will have the training provided throughPaladin Security.
Essential Job Functions:
· Monitor the patient’s overall safetyand report any changes to security and/or hospital staff
· Ensure the safety of all stakeholders,including patients, clinical staff and visitors with de-escalation techniques
· Log and report all incidents reportedby hospital staff, physicians, patients or visitors and maintain a detailed logof all patient interactions
· Utilize two-way radio and computerapplications for communicating site activities
· Communicate in a truthful andreceptive manner under all circumstances
· Must stay alert at all times
· Ability to make immediate decisions,while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimalsupervision
· Develop thorough site knowledge, andmaintain professional relationships with sites and hospital staff
· Handle private and confidentialinformation with a high amount of discretion
· Monitor and screen visitors andclients in a professional manner
Travel Requirements are required frequently.
