Position Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Pipefitter to support both shop fabrication/builds and field installation, maintenance, and service of natural gas compression equipment and related systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in oilfield mechanical systems, strong fabrication skills, and the ability to work independently in fast-paced shop and field environments.
Responsibilities Shop Duties
- Fabricate and assemble piping systems for natural gas compression packages
- Read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and fabrication drawings
- Measure, cut, thread, fit, and assemble pipe, tubing, valves, and components
- Install and fit:
- Coolers
- Scrubbers
- Separators
- Valves and regulators
- Vessels and process piping
- Pressure test and inspect completed systems
- Assist with compressor package builds, repairs, and modifications
- Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and equipment care
Field Duties
- Install, repair, and modify piping systems at customer sites
- Troubleshoot piping and mechanical issues on compression equipment
- Complete shutdowns, turnarounds, and equipment upgrades
- Perform leak testing, pressure testing, and inspections
- Work safely around operating oil and gas facilities
- Complete field documentation, hazard assessments, and safety paperwork
- Travel to customer sites as required
Qualifications
- Journeyman Pipefitter certification preferred; experienced apprentices or equivalent experience considered
- Minimum 3+ years experience in:
- Natural gas compression
- Oil & gas mechanical systems
- Process piping/fabrication
- Strong understanding of:
- Compression packages
- Process piping systems
- Threaded, flanged, and welded systems
- Pressure testing procedures
- Ability to read technical drawings and P&IDs
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract

- WHMIS
Assets
- Compression experience with CAT, Waukesha, Ariel, or related equipment
- Forklift or telehandler experience
- Basic welding/fabrication experience
- Fall Protection / Confined Space
