Our Family Resource Network in Stettler is seeking a: Full-Time Permanent Home Visitor

The FRN (Family Resource Network) is funded through the Childcare and Early Intervention Delivery Branch of The Ministry of Children and Family Services and has been created to provide Alberta families, children and youth aged 0-18 with evidence based and informed services. The services offered by the FRN will include child development, well-being support, caregiver capacity building support, and social connections and supports.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Post secondary diploma at minimum, preferred degree directly related to Human Services from an approved institution
  • Required 1 year of frontline human services experience, preferred 3 years of human services work related to working with families
  • Proof of Membership in Professional Association (when applicable)
  • Committed to provide common sense, understandable and useful parenting skills.
  • Basic First Aid Level C with adult, child, and infant CPR &AED
  • Suicide Intervention Training & De-Escalation Training
  • Intervention Record & Criminal Record Checks with the vulnerable sector
  • Class 5 drivers license, clean drivers abstract and reliable vehicle for client transportation required.
  • Knowledge of the Child, Youth, Family Enhancement Act considered an asset.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provided in-home parenting education and family support services to expectant parents and those with children newborn to age six.
  • Work in the family home provides families with information and support that helps them improve their parenting skills and provide a safe, nurturing environment for their children.
  • Serve families who face challenges that may place their children at risk and keep them from developing to their full potential.
  • Collect and prepare data to ensure proper reporting in accordance with stakeholder deadlines.

Wage Range: $25.84 - $28.90 per hour. Plus, Travel Reimbursement at $0.57/KM.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work select afternoons, evenings and weekends to provide programming that serves a wide range of populations.
