Summer Job Position: Barista & Server (1 Full-time, 2 part-time)
We are seeking an outgoing and efficient individual to join our Moonshine Cafe and Ellis Teahouse Collaboration! The Moonshine Cafe is a bustling hub for delicious homemade meals, met with warm hospitality. In this position, you will be the face of Moonshine Cafe, greeting guests with a warm smile, crafting specialty drinks, and serving their famous homemade meals.
Our nature centre is a tourist destination open to the public that attracts over 17,000 visitors per season from May long weekend to October 15th from Tuesday to Sundays 10-6 pm, with the exception of our special events events and Friday Night Dinners. Weekend availability is required.
Employment Type: Seasonal, May-August
Key Duties:
- Greet Customers and take orders (in-person and on POS)
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks and teas
- Present Daily Special such as Soup of the Day and other homemade features.
- Deliver food and drinks promptly while providing additional table services.
- Clear and reset dining room tables.
- Manage cash and card transactions
- Maintain cleanliness: Sweep and mop, prep & clean dining room/kitchen areas
- Waste Management: empty garbages and recycling regularly.
- Support Prep: Assist chef's with simple food prep tasks as needed (peeling veggies, portioning sauces, etc.)
- Ability to work with a team
- Proactive, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
- First Aid and CPR an asset
Key Qualifications:
- Outgoing and friendly personality
- Excellent multitasking and communication skills.
- Passionate about coffee and customer service.
- Previous cafe/restaurant experiences is an asset, but a great attitude is most important and goes a long way!
- First Aid and CPR an asset
