POSITION SUMMARY
Provides shift supervision, leadership, and technical guidance to Activity Specialists in the absence of the Supervisor of Recreation Services. Advises the Supervisor of Recreation Services on operational matters relating to the Badlands Community Facility and contributes to the development of the annual operating budget and capital plan.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Directs and supervises staff in the operation and maintenance of the Badlands Community Facility (BCF) in the absence of the Manager, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Provides input on staff scheduling and training.
- Promotes positive public relations on behalf of the Town by greeting and assisting members of the public in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner, both in person and over the phone.
- Provides front-line membership services, including processing payments, issuing receipts, and administering drop-in admissions, memberships, and program registrations.
- Supports and facilitates BCF programs and activities by:
- Booking events and ensuring proper set-up and take-down of program and event spaces.
- Providing technical support and instruction on BCF equipment.
- Assisting instructors and program staff as required.
- Delivering programs or activities on a limited or emergency basis, when necessary.
- Assisting with community events.
- Ensures facility cleanliness and safety standards are maintained at all times, including overseeing routine and scheduled cleaning duties such as washroom maintenance.
- Participates in emergency response procedures, including providing first aid and assistance to members, clients, and the general public as required.
- Monitors and enforces facility policies and procedures, providing clear direction to ensure safe and appropriate use of the facility by all patrons.
- Maintains familiarity with and adheres to all Town of Drumheller and BCF policies, procedures, safety practices, and applicable Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
- Contributes as a collaborative member of the BCF team, participating in staff meetings and providing feedback, recommendations, and operational insights to senior staff.
- Assists in the annual operating and capital budgeting process by offering input and recommendations related to facility operations, equipment, and capital improvements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 or equivalent and required certifications. Preference given to those with post-secondary courses in recreation or equivalent discipline.
- Three to five (3-5) years’ experience in a supervisory role.

Compensation: $25.78 / Hour
