Community Pasture Assistant

Term Seasonal Community Pasture Position Available April through October 2025

  • Hourly rates starting at $22.7341 depending upon experience and education
  • In addition to regular wages, wage employees receive
  • 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
  • 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay
  • 40-hour work week – Overtime may be required Workplace: Special Area 3 Sounding Creek Community Pasture

Enjoy a challenging and rewarding seasonal position that will have you working outside in Special Areas during the late spring and summer months at one of our Sounding Creek Community Pasture location.

Description: Key Duties will include:

  • Assisting the Community Pasture Supervisor with admitting, checking, treating, moving, sorting, recording, and exiting cattle from the pasture
  • Miscellaneous maintenance and repair work on buildings, fences, water line installation/repair and corrals
  • Operate machinery and power equipment used in the operation of agricultural duties
  • Delivering the Special Areas Safety Program and all reporting requirements
  • Other related duties as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience handling livestock under community pasture range conditions is an asset
  • Successful assistant pasture riders must supply their own horses and tack
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Operator’s License
  • Physical capabilities to perform job duties - required lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy, tact and discretion and use good judgement

  • These are designated safety sensitive positions and mandatory pre-employment drug testing will be conducted on all newly hired employees
  • These positions will be working outside completing fieldwork in rural-remote areas, in all weather conditions
