Clearview Public Schools invites applications for an Educational Assistant position at Silver Spring Colony School located approximately 10 minutes southeast of Halkirk, Alberta. This colony school has 8 students in grades 1 to 8. This position is scheduled to start at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year and will be 6 hrs/day.
The successful applicant will provide individual attention to a student with specialized needs. Responsibilities include:
- Caring for a student with complex needs (approximately, 4 hours per day);
- Working in a team with SLP, OT, parents and school staff to implement inclusive programming;
- Other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher in the regular classroom (2 hours per day)
The successful applicant will:
- Be able to work in a collaborative team environment;
- Be interested or experienced in working with children with a variety of needs; and
- Be a self starter capable of working independently.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting students with complex needs and those who hold an Educational Assistant Certificate and/or Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA) certification, though these are not mandatory.
