Job Summary

Valley Brewing is now recruiting for a full-time Brewer to report to the Brewing Operations Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

Wort Production

  • Milling
  • Mashing/Lautering
  • Boiling / Kettle additions
  • Graining out
  • Knocking out
  • Brewhouse/heat exchanger CIP
  • Accurately and precisely following recipe/procedures
  • Recipe development and record keeping

Operations

  • Yeast management
  • Beer transferring
  • Fining
  • Carbonating
  • CIP for brite tanks and fermenters per brewery procedures
  • Maintains a spotless brewery
  • Keeps brewery equipment organized
  • Keg cleaning
  • Ordering raw materials
  • Kegging / canning beer
  • Inventory of raw material
  • Inventory of packaged product
  • Inventory of warehouse product
  • Brewing schedule management

Qualifications and Skills

  • Brewing or distilling-related education and/or previous experience in a brewery or distillery is required
  • The successful candidate must be a strong team player
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must have valid drivers license and clean driving abstract
  • Alberta ProServe certification
  • Basic mechanical knowledge (i.e. pumps and valves)
