The Village of Carbon Library is seeking an experienced and community-minded Library Manager to oversee the daily operations of our small rural public library. This is a part-time leadership role that leads the library in promoting a welcoming, professional, and organized library environment that supports lifelong learning and engagement within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing library services
- Supervising staff and volunteers
- Maintain positive community relationships
- Support fundraising initiatives
- Prepare Reports
- Ensure excellent patron service
- Work closely with the Library Board to support strategic goals
Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in an office management or public library, including supervisory responsibilities
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to train and mentor
- Awareness of basic book-keeping principles
- Proficiency in basic office software (Microsoft Office, Canva, Social Media experience an asset)
- Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt in adynamic environment
- Post-secondary education in Library and Information Studies is an asset
This position requires flexibility, professionalism, attention to detail, and the physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Professional development opportunities are supported as funding permits.
