Job Description:
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Tourism Asset Data Collector, will collect and record information from regional tourism businesses to get a better understanding of what the tourism and hospitality industry in the Drumheller region has to offer various travel markets.
Travel markets may include, but are not limited to individual travelers, groups, sports tourism, meetings & events, andinternational travelers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect informationfrom individual regional tourism businesses by phone, email, or in-person
- Clarify and request additional relevant information as required
- Record datain relevant databases
- Bi-weekly progress reports
Qualifications
- Proficient with Excel and learning new computer programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data in a clear manner.
- Ability to take initiative and ask for clarification / additional details
- Ability to work independently and report periodically
- Additional assets that arevaluable but not required:
- Understanding of the tourism & hospitality industry
- Experience with databases
Job Details
- Temporary contract - May 5 to June 27
- To be paid a month in arrears, following invoicing received by the 20th of the month.
- The contractor is responsible for providing their personal IT equipment, cell phone, etc and for covering all costs including insurance,travel, accommodation, and meals. There is access to the Travel Drumheller printing budget and office materials
Pay: $3200 total
Schedule: Negotiable. May include some evenings or weekends
