Under the direct supervision of the Bar Supervisor, the staff member is to prepare and serve customers drinks. In addition to serving beer and wine, using the right proportions to prepare cocktails, special coffees and other drinks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Mix and assist in inventing drinks
  • Serve alcohol responsibly which includes refusing further service when appropriate
  • Promote this establishment
  • Keep the bar area clean and orderly
  • Arrange displays of bar stock and glassware
  • Prepare garnishes3operate computerized point of sales systems
  • Collect payments for drinks and balance cash receipts

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work on their feet, while constantly bending, stretching, walking, lifting and moving items, being able to change kegs and cashiers as needed
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to work flexible hours

Personal Characteristics

  • Strength and stamina required to stand for long periods of time and lift kegs and cases of beverages
  • Good motor co-ordination
  • Good judgement and a responsible attitude when serving alcohol combined with the ability to maintain customer satisfaction
  • Honesty-Patience
  • Arithmetic skills required to handle money accurately
  • Good memory for details ability to get along well with others

Job Skill/Education Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ablet o accurately measure liquor quickly and without waste
  • Must know common cocktail recipes
  • Familiar with liquor laws, Have Pro-Serve Certification, optional
  • Must obtain Criminal Check
